MSME - Backbone of Indian Economy

The MSME sector is the backbone of India’s economy—contributing over 30% to GDP and employing 110+ million people.

As a Chartered Accountant working closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners, I see immense potential in this sector. But I also see a recurring challenge: many businesses are unaware of the government schemes and legal protections designed to help them grow.

🎯 Step One: Get Udyam Registered

Udyam Registration is the key that unlocks the full range of benefits and protections available to MSMEs.

🔍 Major Benefits MSMEs Shouldn’t Miss:

✅ Priority sector lending, subsidies, and access to government tenders

✅ CGTMSE – Collateral-free loans up to ₹5 crore

✅ Interest Subvention Scheme – 2% interest relief on incremental working capital or term loans

✅ PMEGP – Up to 35% subsidy for new micro-enterprises in manufacturing and services

✅ Payment Realisation Protection – Under MSMED Act, buyers must make payments within 45 days, failing which interest is payable. MSMEs can file complaints via the MSME Samadhaan Portal to ensure timely recovery.

💡 My message to MSME owners:

These schemes and protections are more than policy—they are real enablers of financial stability and growth. However, the process to apply and comply can be overwhelming.
